I apologize for the lack of updates lately! There's not much room for excuse. Yeah, I can blame work or yeah I can blame getting caught up with other things. Bottom line is I slacked off!
Anyway, I'm currently in Spokane, visiting some really amazing friends - Ashley, Brendan, and soon Cameron and Erica. It's really been a trip 3-5 years in the making but I've finally made it! Technically, I'm here to take Ashley and Brendan's engagement photos, but the weather hasn't been cooperating... It'll work out, though! And if not, well, looks like I'll have to make another trip... Oh darn... =)
It's truly a blessing that I'm over here! It really is. Brendan and Ashley took me to a few of their classes at Whitworth and showed me around some. The classes were great, lead by even greater professors. And I adored the campus! The art building is amazing; my favorite place on campus but I may be bias. ;) Overall, Whitworth is so close-knit, both in proximity and community. It's a beautiful place.
When I hit Spokane city limits, I had the same feeling that I get when I enter Seattle. A feeling of purpose. A feeling of being part of something bigger than myself. A feeling of being at home. Can I see myself living here or going to Whitworth? I don't know. I have such a heart and desire for Seattle, and the Westside in general. The community, the art. The glistening skyline, the sun dipping into the water in the evening. It's hard to compete with but Spokane does have a lot to offer, and Whitworth is absolutely incredible! I can't say I'm hating my time on the Eastside. =)
